About the desk

A recruitment desk with London on its masthead.

Turner & People exists because hiring in London has become a numbers game, and the people inside it deserve better than that. We keep a small desk on purpose: fewer clients, fewer introductions, more time for each of them.

What we believe

Good hiring is slow in the right places.

The fastest part of a hire should be the admin. The slow parts — understanding a team, understanding a person, being honest about whether the two fit — are where the value sits, and where most processes cut corners.

So we ask more questions than most, and we send fewer CVs. If we don't think we can help, we'll tell you that on the first call rather than three weeks in.

We are beginning with graduate and early-career sales — graduate sales executives, SDRs, BDRs and first account executive hires — because it is a market where knowing candidates properly, rather than forwarding CVs, genuinely changes the outcome for both sides.

We also keep building relationships across community, membership, events and partnerships, and we expect the desk to widen as the business grows. London is our home, but we'll work across the UK, and on other kinds of role, when the role, company and person are right.

How we work

Our standing principles

Straight answers

On salary, on process, on your chances. Even when it's not the answer you were hoping for.

Context both ways

Candidates hear what the job is really like. Employers hear what a person actually wants.

Discretion as standard

Confidential searches stay confidential, and your details are never circulated without your say-so.

Relationships over transactions

We want to be useful beyond a single brief, placement or conversation. That shapes how we behave from the beginning.

Say hello

The best introductions start with a conversation.
